Heppi Pettit

H eppi was born in Miami,FL and has been playing professionally for over 35 years. Like many musicians, he was influenced early on by The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, and by The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck , The Small Faces, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and continues to be influenced by all music in general. After playing with various local bands, in the early 70's, Heppi helped formed the band "WOWII" and within 2 years of relentless live performances they were signed to Electra Asylum. Wowie recorded one album "Making Wowii" and proceeded to tour the United States opening up for national acts like The Platters, Little Anthony, Rick Derringer, Mike Pinera of Iron Butterfly and Blues Image fame, etc. After the demise of Wowii, Heppi relocated to New York and for a while was a member of the original BIG BEAT which toured with UB40, The Fixx, Twisted Sister, and other notable acts. After raising a family and working a "real job" for a number of years, Heppi decided to return to music and to warmer weather. He returned to Miami in 2003 and has been playing in the local scene for the last 3 years. Heppi plays Gibson Les Paul,Epiphone, and Fender Stratocaster model guitars and uses Marshall and Fender amplifiers.
